Fishing Rock
The fish rock tour includes a walking tour along the Xwísten (Bridge River) traditional fishing grounds where the St'at'imc people still fish every summer to gather their salmon for winter preservation. Appropriate footwear is recommended for uneven terrain.
Fish Cutting Demonstration
Authentic preparation demonstration of cutting St'at'imc wind dry salmon for hanging and wind drying. A sample of the wind-dried salmon is provided for tasting.
S7ístken Site Tour
The archaeology site tour includes a short walk of the ancient archeological village, home to over 90 cultural depressions. This site is currently being studied by the University of Montana and historical findings are used as dialogue for the tour. Our community has built a replica S7ístken (pithouse) and tourists may enter the pithouse to experience what our traditional winter homes were like. Appropriate footwear is recommended for uneven terrain.
